The Traditions area
is a perfect segue into the museum's next room highlighting
the emotions of Game Day in Auburn. Walk through the doors of
Toomer's Drugs and experience the Auburn tradition of Tiger
Walk. Video mirrors line the wall to allow museum visitors to
join Auburn football players and coaches on their way into Jordan-Hare.
The Game Day Room itself could keep any Auburn football fan
enraptured for hours.
Upon entering the room, one is greeted by a 6-minute video
celebrating tailgating, pre-game ceremonies, cheerleaders,
highlights from Auburn football games, post-game locker-room
celebrations, and fans gathering at Toomer's Corner. Site
visitors will also notice an actual goal post and working
scoreboard.
The room features an exhibit dedicated to the Auburn band,
majorettes, and cheerleaders, and a separate display dedicated
to important wins in Auburn's history including artifacts
from Auburn's 1957 National Championship team. Coach Ralph
"Shug" Jordan's football practice days golf-cart
is on permanent display in the room.
The walls are covered in Auburn history as well. Visitors
are treated to a wall celebrating Auburn's rich history in
bowl games, can follow the evolution and growth of Auburn's
athletic facilities, and can see the three retired football
jerseys of Pat Sullivan [#7], Terry Beasley [#88], and Bo
Jackson [#34].
